IDAC CLASSES
If you are a new dancer ages 4-6, this class is for you. In this semester long class, students will have fun learning foundations of folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. Foundations Collective is designed for young dancers who are in pre-k through 1st grade to learn foundations of cultural dance with steps like skip-2-3s, chasse, and spatial awareness. We will also facilitate dancers' ability to remember sequences and perform choreography in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. There is an additional $75 costume fee associated with this class. At checkout, it will be included as a registration fee. We are excited to dance with your children!
Note: Because of high demand there are two different times this class is scheduled for: Tuesdays 4:00-5:00 PM and Thursdays 5:00-6:00 PM. Select one of these classes for your child to attend.
If you are a newer dancer ages 7-14 this class is for you. In this semester long class, students will have fun learning foundations of folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. Foundations Collective is designed for dancers who have not had much prior dance experience. They will learn foundations of cultural dance with steps like skip-2-3s, grapevine steps, chasse, and spatial awareness. We will also build their ability to remember sequences and perform choreography in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. There is an additional $75 costume fee associated with this class. At checkout, it will be included in your registration fee. We are excited to dance with your children!

Additionally, there may be other community shows throughout the semester that IDAC students will be encouraged to participate in. Elementary Collective is designed for beginner to early intermediate dancers who are in 1st to 3rd grade (or ages 6 to 9) to learn foundations of cultural dance such as skip-2-3s, grapevines and pony steps, a schottische, pas de basque, cukce, yemenite, and spatial awareness. Dancers will develop their stage presence and ability to learn choreography. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. There is an additional $75 costume fee associated with this class that will be included in the registration fee at checkout. In this semester long class, students will have fun learning folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, there may be other community shows throughout the semester that IDAC students will be encouraged to participate in. Elementary Collective 2 & 3 is designed for advanced beginner to high intermediate dancers who are in 4th to 6th grade (or ages 9 to 12) to learn foundations of cultural dance such as skip-2-3s, grapevines and pony steps, a schottische, pas de basque, cukce, yemenite, and spatial awareness. Dancers will also learn longer and more complex choreography. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 80 min. Instructor permission is needed to register for this class. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $260. There is an additional $75 costume fee associated with this class that will be included in the registration fee at checkout. We are excited to dance with you!
In this semester long class, students will have fun learning folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, there may be other community shows throughout the semester that IDAC students will be encouraged to participate in. Junior Collective is designed for intermediate level dancers who are in 5th to 9th grade (or ages 10-14) to learn foundational steps of cultural dance such as skip-2-3s, grapevines and pony steps, a schottische, pas de basque, rida, cukce, yemenite, and spatial awareness to name a few. We will also do strength training/conditioning, more complex choreography, and partnering. Dancers are expected to be able to be focused and actively participate in the class for the duration of 90 min. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $275. There is an additional $75 costume fee associated with this class. At checkout, this fee will be labeled as part of the registration fee. We are excited to dance with you!
In this semester long class, students will have fun learning folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Additionally, there may be other community shows throughout the semester that IDAC students will be encouraged to participate in. Senior Collective is designed for intermediate to advanced level dancers who are in grades 8th to 12th (ages 13 to 18) and will teach them foundational steps of cultural dance and differentiation of styling across cultures. This class requires instructor approval to register. At this level, there is an emphasis on technique, styling, strengthening/conditioning, more complex choreography, and performance. Much of our choreography will focus on boy/girl partnering and lifts. Students who participate in Senior Collective for Fall and Spring semesters and meet the other requirements will be eligible to go on an international cultural exchange tour in summer of 2026. We are excited to dance with you! Please note: Senior Collective dancers are strongly encouraged to take ballet outside of their usual IDAC rehearsals. Senior Collective will have additional Fri/Sat rehearsals throughout the semester. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $275. In this semester long class, students will have fun learning traditional American clogging steps and a routine. Novice Clogging (Ages 6-9) is designed for brand new cloggers ages 6-9. Cloggers may wear tap or clogging shoes for the first semester. (White dance shoes are strongly encouraged.) All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. After one semester, white clogging shoes are required. Talk to instructor for purchase information. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. Beginner Clogging (Ages 7-14) is designed for advanced beginner to early intermediate level cloggers who are in grades 2nd to 8th (or ages 7-14) and who have had at least two semesters of clogging. In this semester long class, homeschool students will have fun learning traditional American clogging steps and a routine. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. Novice Clogging (Ages 7-14) is designed for cloggers who have passed Novice Clogging and who can perform the required steps for this level with precision and proper timing. White Clogging shoes are required.Talk to instructor for purchase information. We are excited to dance with you!

Intermediate/Advanced CLogging is designed for advanced intermediate to early advanced cloggers who are in 4th to 8th grade (or ages 9 to 13) and who have passed the placement audition for this class AND can execute the tested skills correctly. All cloggers must have white clogging shoes for this class by our first performance. Instructor approval is required to register for this class. We are excited to dance with you!

In this 13 week long adult class, students will experience joyful movement while learning traditional American clogging steps and a routine. We think clogging is the happiest form of exercise! Novice Clogging (Teen-Adult) is designed for brand new cloggers of all ages. Cloggers may wear tap or clogging shoes or sneakers. Students in this class are NOT expected to perform.

Ballet Technique for Folk Dancers is designed for beginning to advanced level dancers who desire to improve their dance technique, posture, arm styling, foot and ankle articulation, overall strength, and artistic expression. This class is not a performance based class but is strongly encouraged for all dancers/performers. We are excited to dance with you!

In these two 13 week long classes, students will improve their folk dance technique through the development of Ukrainian/ballet technique. Ballet Technique for Folk Dancers is scheduled for Thursdays from 9:00-10:00 AM for ages 5-10 and Thursdays from 10:00-11:00 AM for ages 7-18. These classes are designed for homeschoolers who are beginning to advanced level dancers and who desire to improve their dance technique, posture, arm styling, foot and ankle articulation, overall strength, and artistic expression. This class is not a performance based class but is strongly encouraged for all dancers/performers ages 10 and up. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $175. (There is no costume fee for this class.) We are excited to dance with you!
Learn about the beautiful cultures of Africa and the African diaspora through dance and music. In this class students will have the opportunity to drum, sing, and dance. This is a family friendly class for all ages 5 to 99 but adults and children are invited to register separately-whatever suits your family or situation. No experience in dance or drumming is required-just a willingness to learn and have fun. (You may choose to drum only if you don't wish to dance.) Our drum and dance teachers, Miss Olivia and Mr. Max, masterfully teach several levels in one class, so drummers with experience are also welcome to register. Experience joyful movement through African dance and drumming class.

This class is for students who are in grades 2nd to 6th (or ages 7-12) and interested in singing. In this semester long class, students will have fun learning the basics of singing/vocal technique. Students will learn to sing folk songs from around the world, as well as rhythmic patterns, and cultural/historic context of the songs. All students in this class are expected to perform in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. Singers are expected to be able to focus and actively participate in the class for the duration of 60 min. The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. There is an additional $50 costume fee to cover your singer's costume that will show up at checkout. Dress code for girls and boys for weekly class is comfortable clothes for singing/playing music (IDAC shirts are encouraged) We are excited to sing around the world with you!
In this 12-week-long class, students will improve their folk dance technique through the development of Spanish dance technique, specifically Flamenco. Flamenco Technique is designed for beginning to advanced level folk dancers who desire to improve their dance technique, posture, arm styling, foot and ankle articulation, percussive footwork, rhythm, overall strength, and artistic expression. This class is required for all students who plan to be in the end-of-semester Rocklin Heritage Street Fair on Saturday, May 2nd. All returning dancers will also be performing at the Sierra Elementary Cultural Night on the evening of Thursday, January 22nd. Students who would like to take the class but not be in the shows may also participate in the class but wont be placed in the piece. We are excited to dance with you! The investment for this class for the entire semester is $200. (There is no costume fee for this class.)
Note: There are two scheduled times for this class. It is offered to ages 10 to 18 on Mondays from 4:30 to 5:45 and to older teens/adults on Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
In this semester long class, students will have fun learning basic level tap steps and a routine. This tap class is designed for brand new tappers ages 5 to 10. This is not a performance-based class. Tappers must have a pair of tap shoes for their first semester. We are excited to dance with you!

If you are a new dancer ages 3-4, this class is for you. In this semester-long class, students will have fun learning foundations of folk dance technique as well as dances from different cultures and/or time periods. Global Tots is designed for young dancers who are in pre-k to learn about different cultures through dance, music, art, and stories. We will also facilitate learning of spatial awareness and folk dance basics in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers are expected to be able to actively participate in the class for the duration of 45 min. We are excited to dance with your children! The investment for this class for the entire semester is $175.
